Book Discussion Group:

A virtual book club! I love reading. And I love getting together with friends, especially to discuss a good book. But our schedules get crazy and we can’t lock everybody down to talk about it at the same time. So, here’s what we’re doing! We’re gonna get together virtually, with a good book, good conversation, maybe a good cry every now and then and get some good fellowship…even if it’s virtual. Prayerfully, this group opens a door for women to recognize the need to physically get together. Now I’m not suggesting that this become an instead-of replacement for getting with your girlfriends. I’m saying this might just be the answered prayer for that mom who is time starved and never has the opportunity to get out of the house and fellowship.

I’m praying this book club gives you a chance to connect with some women who share the same struggles, same victories and same hearts desires to see God more in their lives.

We don’t want you to miss out on all the fun we’re gonna have so make sure you do the following:

  • During our book discussions, we’ll be chatting via zoom video, sharing breakthroughs & trials in the comments of our weekly posts and of course who can forget about the love/obsession with the stories behind the pictures on instagram, pinterest , facebook & twitter. (Follow us at @inneractiveFIT on all social media outlets)
  • Sign-Up for email updates so that you’ll always know when we’ve posted something new! Don’t worry, I don’t give out that information! And I despise junk mail so you won’t get overloaded with random posts!

Ready, let’s read!

40 Days of Decrease by Alicia Chole

40 days of decrease

40 Days of Decrease emphasizes a different type of fast. What if you or your church fasted comparison? What if your family fasted accumulation? What if your office fasted gossip?

40 Days of Decrease guides readers through a study of Jesus’ uncommon and uncomfortable call to abandon the world’s illusions, embrace His kingdom’s reality, and journey cross-ward and beyond.

Without Rival – Lisa Bevere

There is a reason we look at others as rivals and limit ourselves to comparison and competition. We have an enemy assaulting our mind, will, and emotions in the hope that we’ll turn on ourselves and each other. It’s a cycle that isolates us from intimate connections, creates confusion about our identity, and limits our purpose.

In Without Rival, bestselling author Lisa Bevere shares how a revelation of God’s love breaks these limits. You’ll learn how to stop seeing others as rivals and make the deep connections with your Creator you long for–connections that hold the promise of true identity and intimacy. With biblically sound teaching filled with prophetic insight for our day, Lisa uses humor and passion to challenge you to

· Flip rivalry so it brings out the best in you
· Stop hiding from conversations you need to be a part of
· Answer the argument that says women are unfit, easily deceived, and gullible
· Dismantle gender rivalry and work with the men in your life

It’s time to step forward to live a life without rival.

Detours Tony Evans

detours book

God has a plan for your life.

More often than not, it’s a detour, one that can leave you feeling temporarily stalled and slowed down. Which nobody likes. But detours are necessary if any improvements are going to be made on the paths we travel. Or if any wreck is going to be cleaned up or a hazard avoided. Detours are designed for our own good, regardless of how we view or feel about them.

Detours are a good thing that often feels bad.

Tony knows a thing or two about detours, and one of the things he knows for certain is that God works through detours to bring about His blessing. To deliver you to the place He has created just for you. Yet what we often do is try as hard as we can to work our own way to the circumstances we believe are best for us

Uninvited Lysa Terkeurst

The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ’s powerful love.

In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences with rejection—from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over.

With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa helps readers:

    • Release the desire to fall apart or control the actions of others by embracing God-honoring ways to process their hurt.
    • Know exactly what to pray for the next ten days to steady their soul and restore their confidence.
    • Overcome the two core fears that feed our insecurities by understanding the secret of belonging.
    • Stop feeling left out and start believing that “set apart” does not mean “set aside.”
    • End the cycle of perceived rejection by refusing to turn a small incident into a full blown issue.

Wild & Free: A hope filled anthem for the woman who feels she is both too much and never enough – by Jess Connolly & Hayley Morgan

A woman who enters into a mature friendship with an insecure identity is a threat to herself and the women around her. A woman who doesn’t know where she stands with God will be working for approval and calling others to do the same, even subconsciously. A woman who doesn’t know her worth in Christ and le’s her insecurity run rampant will feel tender about things she needn’t feel tender about, will hear offensive words, and will puff others up thinking she’s loving them well. A woman who doesn’t know her mission or her calling, and hasn’t heard from God about her gifts will compare herself to her sisters, always feeling a little on the outside and always feeling a little less than.
On the flipside, a woman who knows where she stands with God will love with abandon because she was loved first. She won’t strive for attention or affection from anyone, because she is filled up with approval from her Father. A woman who knows her value as a daughter of God will live with conviction and confidence and call the women around her to their holy places as co-heirs with Christ. A wild and free woman who has received her marching orders from her Father will run fast and far as she serves, not for her own name’s sake, but for the sake of the kingdom of God.

Just Rise Up Sarah Martin

Based on Psalm 145, this invigorating study motivates women to do life differently by making Jesus famous in all aspects of life. Just RISE UP! is a call to get off the couch of complacency, live a life of praise with a humble posture and Kingdom perspective, and step into a life of true purpose.

finding spiritual whitespace: awakening your soul to rest by Bonnie Gray

From the Back Cover

Move beyond Surviving to a Rejuvenating Place of Soul Rest

How many of us find ourselves running on empty with no time for rest, no time for ourselves, no time for God?

Bonnie Gray knows what that’s like. On the brink of fulfilling a lifelong dream, she saw her plans shatter into a journey through painful memories and anxiety. In her search for answers, she made an important discovery: we all need spiritual whitespace.

It’s the space on a page left unmarked. Untouched. Whitespace makes art beautiful. It gives the eye a place to rest. Just like beautiful art, our souls need balance and beauty.

With heartbreaking honesty, Bonnie guides you to discover a better story for yourself, one that feeds your soul and makes room for rest. Infused with biblical encouragement and thought-provoking prompts, this book shows us how to create space in the everyday for God, refreshment, and faith–right in the midst of our stress-frayed lives.
