The inneractive FITCLUB is committed to KNOW NEED so that there is NO need; to identify our community’s needs and implement a plan to mobilize our fitness family to meet those needs.

Holiday Body: Blessed MisFits

Never underestimate the power of an invitation! If you’re the one being invited, humbly accept and humbly arrive. If you’re the one doing the inviting, open your house, your heart and your love.

I love my family because we are wildly quirky, perhaps strange to the average person, but they are mine! Every inside joke, every random look, every heart felt tear jerker memory…they’re mine and I’m blessed!

I love watching each of my kids find their ‘fit’ in our family and they’re learning each if their individual talents & gifts are needed for a specific purpose to complete our family puzzle.

Growing up with 7 siblings it amazes me that somehow we each played a unique role within our family & the people around us. But even as adults while I can see those roles being redefined; there were times I wondered how or where we ever ‘fit in’.

I sometimes question where I belong, which group I’m a part of and often I’ll watch the people around and try to see if we’d click.

Having a place to belong or connect with isn’t a about finding an identical match or carbon copy, I learned that quickly in my family. We’re all so very different yet collectively we’re one.

Think about keys & locks. They work because one needed to be shaped, refined and even a bit of heat grinding in order for it to work in the specific lock it was designed for.

Every friendship, job, skill I’ve ever had in my life I’ve tried to “fit” and God had truly shown me that as long as I would continue to squeeze or conform I would always be misfit. But if I allow Him to place me where I needed to be, I could be the specific one for that task!

I’m challenging you today to consider where you may have considered yourself or someone else the “misfit”. Ask God to continue to reshape you & put you exactly where you belong.

 

 

Luke 14

He went on to tell a story to the guests around the table. Noticing how each had tried to elbow into the place of honor, he said, “When someone invites you to dinner, don’t take the place of honor. Somebody more important than you might have been invited by the host. Then he’ll come and call out in front of everybody, ‘You’re in the wrong place. The place of honor belongs to this man.’ Red-faced, you’ll have to make your way to the very last table, the only place left. “When you’re invited to dinner, go and sit at the last place. Then when the host comes he may very well say, ‘Friend, come up to the front.’ That will give the dinner guests something to talk about! What I’m saying is, If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” Then he turned to the host. “The next time you put on a dinner, don’t just invite your friends and family and rich neighbors, the kind of people who will return the favor. Invite some people who never get invited out, the misfits from the wrong side of the tracks. You’ll be—and experience—a blessing. They won’t be able to return the favor, but the favor will be returned—oh, how it will be returned!—at the resurrection of God’s people.” (Luke 14:7-14 MSG)

1/4 cup each almonds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, raisins, pumpkin seeds

1 sliced banana,

dash of pumpkin pie spice

Pumpkin Vanilla Spice Energy bites

1 1/2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder

1/2 cup almond flour

1/2 cup Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola

1/4 cup of natural nut butter (almond, peanut, cashew)

1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/4 cup sliced raw almonds

dash of pumpkin pie spice
