Swimsuit Confidence: fit-ness plan

FOCUS: Strength Training & Conditioning.

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Trying to get stronger or stronger is a process:

1. It takes being willing to get uncomfortable

2. It takes knowing that you’ll potentially experience some painful moments

3. AND it requires being willing to stretch those places that are ridiculously tight.

Fix your focus. This. Is. A. Journey. You will get there but there’s a process.

God is already there cheering you on knowing your weakness and infusing you with strength when you need it.

FOCUS. Fix your eyes. Not on the finish line or end result but the process of the change.

Impact vs. impressive

It isn’t the most impressive things that make the greatest impact. God will prune the things that look good but aren’t baring any fruit.” {from elevation church podcast IT’S A COVER UP}

A few days ago I heard (in my spirit) the words “so what” & “who cares”. Every time you consider yourself, what you “do” and why you do it; ask yourself ‘so what, and who cares’. My soul-sister-friend Alisa Keaton from Revelation Wellness says “what’s your motive & who’s your motive”.

You’re enough. You don’t need to be impressive. You’re enough, just as you are. You don’t need to be impressive. Just be you & let your light shine. You don’t need to be impressive.

Did you read that?

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE IMPRESSIVE. God is the one making you fit for the purpose. We don’t need to try to impress or gain the attention of anyone.

No cover ups. Swimsuit Confidence is rooted in Christ so it’s never a performance to be impressive.

MAINTAIN YOUR FOCUS

“Many downsize their dreams for so long that settling for less becomes a habit. When you stop hoping, you start settling. You begin to settle for a smaller version of your real vision. Give yourself permission to hope again. To dream a bigger dream. It means you have to be honest enough with yourself to acknowledge the real desires of your heart. No time for surface goals. No time for putting everyone’s agenda ahead of God’s plan for you. Be bold and courageous about what you’re hoping for. What do you need to give yourself permission to hope for?” {excerpt from Successful Women Think Differently by Valorie Burton }

Your life is worth more than fear. Your confidence comes from working on your FIT-NESS. Fitness is not what you do, it’s who you become. God is consistently developing a strong person in each of us, developing character, perseverance, maturity and patience. That’s confidence.

This month we’ve been talking about Swimsuit Confidence And after a less than satisfying shopping trip I had to laugh at my reality & detox those ANTS (automatic negative thoughts) that came marching through my mind. Truth is; Confidence is thirsty for THE Truth, not a truth!!!!! [Blessed are those who hunger & thirst {for righteousness} for they will be filled. Matthew 5.]

Stay thirsty.

Every decision we make is the result of our convictions & affects our whole self. The desire for truth will ALWAYS be filled. Staring at the places where we’ve failed can paralyze us, deceiving us into believing that our failures and imperfections are in fact the end all be all truth. That couldn’t be further from THE Truth.

Truth is; (Romans 8) There’s no condemnation (fault finding from God) for anyone who is (accepts, believes and lives) in Christ; who doesn’t live in a way that satisfies their flesh (natural senses ESPECIALLY WHAT WE SEE & FEEL) but lives according to the spirit (simply giving God permission to lead & adjust our focus).

NO MATTER WHAT THE IMPERFECTION, FAILURE, MISTAKE… God always makes it His mission to work things out for us.

I laughed at the fitting room mirror and thought there oughta be a warning blazed across the door that says ‘objects on hanger may appear distorted depending on where your mind is upon arrival’.

My decision was to shut down the voice and realize I was setting myself up for failure. I had to surrender my thoughts and see what THE Truth was.

YALL when we see ourselves as God sees us, we slowly remove the doubts, fears, imperfections and flaws.

 “There is no *PERFECT* decision – only the perfectly surrendered decision to press through our fears and know that God is working in us to bring about good through us. My imperfections will never override God’s promises. God’s promises are not dependent on my ability to always choose well, but rather on His ability to use well.” – Lysa Terkeurst The Best Yes
