Ready to get back on track? – 3 F.I.T. challenge opportunities

Summer has this awesomely clever way of keeping us connected to friends & family, festivals and of course all the food that goes with it. And rightly so, that sometimes means we’ve stepped away from our fitness goals. EVEN IF we’ve kept movin’ & groovin’ in Zumba; the laid back care-free air of the Summer breeze makes it really easy to play hooky on our gym dates.  So I’ve put together a few options that’ll help you get your heart pumpin’ & spirit movin’; there’s one that fits your goals & lifestyle. All 3 options include coaching, group accountability and changing YOUR life!!! You ready to get back on track?

 

Option 1 – JUST GET ME BACK ON TRACK

So as we embark on this challenge, it’s an opportunity to get back to the basics. We know that ultimately God has the final say regarding what happens to our lives, but He gives us the ability to choose. His hope is that we would choose to allow Him the permission to guide us, speak to us and that we’d heed His advice, and ultimately that we would exchange our assumptions with HIS TRUTH!

Let’s get Back To Basics: reevaluating our understanding of what these 3 things mean to us and how they determine our shape…

What can you expect? 

Accountability/coaches – we’ve all been there before, and we’re all a work in progress but one thing we realized is that someone helped us, so we want to give that same help to you! For this level of the challenge, the accountability includes being added to a specific group via this blog, receiving daily & weekly challenges & periodic benchmark check ins.

Option 2 – I’d love to run…one day…5K My Way

I’ve teamed up with my fellow fitness-blogger friends; we’ll be your ‘coaches’, we’ll help you move better, move more and move further.

We’ve set a goal and we’ll get there together during the 5K My Way Virtual Challenge!

I still remember my first run. I went for a lunch time ‘walk’ with one of the trainers where I taught kickboxing. She jogged while I power walked. She pointed out that my power walking pace was the same as her jogging pace, and if I just bent my knees, shortened my stride and practiced my breathing I could be on my way to my first 5K. I lost my breath just thinking about it!!
And everyone that knows my love-hate relationship with running; knows how nervous I get before we start. However, once we get movin’ my body recognizes how awesome it feels and my mind clears every cluttering thought it had previously trapped! No joke!

What can you expect? 

Accountability/coaches – we’ve all been there before, and we’re all a work in progress but one thing we realized is that someone helped us, so we want to give that same help to you! The challenge is virtual, so you’ll do it where you are, you’ll find a 5K where you are, we’ll help you reach the goals that some of those apps you have never succeeded in doing! You’ll be added to a special group via FACEBOOK & you’ll receive a confirmation email once you sign up with instructions.

Option 3: I need to, but I can’t find time – (FOCUS T25

  1. Summertime is one of the toughest times to keep up my exercise routine. Any bit of advice and motivation helps! Great post!

      Joy. The best way to keep up with your routine, is include it as part of your regular schedule. Whether it’s playtime/family time or vacation time, your ‘exercise’ can be something as simple as walking or jogging next to your kids while they ride their bike. I never realized just how rewarding that was til one day my daughter asked to walk the dog and we decided to see how fast he could run. OH BOY DID WE GET IN SOME CARDIO! Taking the kids swimming, roller skating, even bowling. Just getting your body up and moving as a part of your daily summer routine can help eliminate the guilt that moms often carry when they set apart time for themselves. I’m totally not saying eliminate your own time, I’m just saying it’s easier on your own conscience which we know is still a part of our total wellbeing!
