Last month I went on a diet. I made a confession that I really felt the need to take an honesty inventory and assessment of what I was eating or should I say, what I was feeding myself. My main reason for this was that I wasn’t seeing the result I thought I should’ve seen by now, so it was time to get real with myself. See what I discovered here.
Last month’s challenge inspired the Taste & See challenge for this month. Here’s what we’ve tasted so far.
Week 2 – Going Red
Week 3 – Blue & Purple nutrition for health
Week 3 Blue & Purple Super(food) Power!
Today I chose a cup of black berry, dark cherry, blueberry, strawberry frozen fruit blend to add to my Chocolate Shakeology smoothie!
Purple traditionally symbolizes royalty; blue, trust. But in such foods as blueberries, plums, purple cabbage, black currants, eggplant and purple grapes, these hues represent a vision of good health. (Source: EatingWell.com)

Winning the weight battle
“So much of our behavior that misses the mark of God’s calling for our lives is the result of insecurity” – Steven Furtick ‘Crash The Chatterbox’
Winning the weight battle isn’t planning a hard core workout staying in the gym for 3 hours relentlessly sweating til you can’t feel your legs.
Winning the weight battle isn’t force feeding foods that you think if you eat them enough you’ll enjoy them because you’ve linked the number on the scale to the food itself.
Winning the weight battle is recognizing that you are worth taking time for yourself to ‘TASTE & SEE’…
Winning the weight battle is recognizing the habits that need to be exchanged. Recognizing the truth in our habits. Recognizing that we do need help, recognizing that sometimes the reason we eat is fear. Recognizing sometimes the reason we stay on the scale is fear. Recognizing the reason we think we are what we weigh is fear. I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. I carried a lot of weight from my past. I carried every resentment, every regret, every report (dysfunction/statistic/rumor/word spoken over me). The weight we carry has less to do with our external lifestyles and much more to do with what’s happening on the inside. Everything from the thoughts we have, the aching & desires of our hearts and the perceptions we have about everything in life. BUT GOD wants to help us get rid of that weight and the dependance we’ve placed on food, fitness and false expectations.
Taste & see that the Lord is Good!
1I will bless the LORDat all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.2My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.3Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!4I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.5Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.7The angel of the LORDencamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.8Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
