Monday motivation: Back to basics – Comfort Food

I got a MAJOR revelation regarding comfort food. I had to ask myself what am I comforting & what makes me feel comforted?

Eat

Pray

My morning devotion came from a ‘straight to the heart of the matter’ email devotion called “Girlfriends In God”. I love this little devotional because it speaks straight to me. It speaks to those questions, those sarcasms, those “what was I thinking” moments in my life and the lives of many women. Every contributor writes from a girlfriend’s perspective, the type of girlfriend we all wish we had. The one that tells you the absolute truth in love. This was today’s prayer. I encourage you to read the blog post from today, I’m sure it will bless you.

Father, I desperately need Your guidance in setting priorities and goals. I am so tired of trying to please everyone in my life. I want to please You and do what You alone have created me to do. Help me learn how to listen for Your voice. Teach me how to see and do Your perfect plan for my life. I want to live each day abiding in You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen. From Girlfriends In God devotional at Crosswalk.com

LIVE:

A little devotion we shared with our kids today from the book “God’s Little Devotion on Success” said there are little keys to living a successful life. The main one that stuck out to me is living a life of self-discipline. If we live frivolous and untempered lives, with no sort of structure, no compass, no boundaries, we subject ourselves to all types of crazy outcomes yet we get to that winding road and start wondering how we got there.

Three ways to increase your faith, spiritual living.
