Let’s talk about our daily habits

May we as daughters of the King, approach the Bible with confidence today – not because of who we are, but because of who we are in Him – She Reads Truth; Open Your Bible

Open Your Bible Week 2

If you’re just joining us, we’re joining thousands of women who’ve decided to spend more intentional time in God’s word with the She Reads Truth Open Your Bible study. This week’s study focuses on 4 key areas concerning approaching the Truth that is God’s Word.

  1. Approach Truth Revertly
  2. Approach Truth Confidently
  3. Approach Truth Regularly
  4. Approach Truth Prayerfully

If you haven’t already, I HIGHLY suggest that you get a copy of the study because it goes into so much more than I’m able to cover in these group discussions. And friends, honestly the thing that God has been showing me is that I can’t depend solely on devotionals, daily Instagram ‘inspirational posts’ or anyone else to give me what He has for me. And don’t get me wrong, I LOOOVE a good devotional and I have a few favorites that are drenched in the Holy Spirit and have carried me through some dark seasons; I KNOW God lead me straight to them. What I’m saying is if we lean too hard on these resources rather than turning to God himself; aren’t we more or less reading them like a horoscope?

Friends God IS WAY TOO MUCH MORE than boxing Him into what we find scrolling through our social media feeds & He wants to open the eyes of our understanding; to literally supply ALL of our needs but how can He do that if we aren’t willing to show up?

It’s like having a desire to eat better and move more. You could hire a personal trainer and a world renowned registered dietician but if all you do is create a Pinterest board of inspiration, visions of hope & recipes but never do the work; what did it get you?

Y’all. It’s time to show up & do the work!

The more we live on a diet of God’s Word, the more we’ll grow.

Many of us live in a constant tension between ‘How can I conveniently squeeze Bible-time into my busy schedule?’ And ‘How can my busy schedule reflect the importance of God’s Word in my life?’ – SRT Open Your Bible

Do you struggle in this area?

Read Hebrews 4:14-16 – What adjective does the author of Hebrews use to describe the way we should approach God?

How are you approaching Him?

Friends no matter what our present needs or wants may be, He invites us to come sit with Him. Grab coffee, tea or whatever beverage you want and come sit with the one who has You at the top of His ‘To-Bless’ list.

A few of verses that really are speaking to me from this week’s study are listed below. Take some time, read them patiently, confidently and earnestly seek His heart. Use this GPS playlist to set the atmosphere of expectation.

Holy Yoga New Breath Intention

In addition to our Spirit Movin’ study this month, our Heart Pumpin’ FOCUS is with the Holy Yoga Ministries 30/30 intention.

So Let People See God In & Through Your Body

That body of yours, I designed it. I formed it and it was My breath that brought it life. So, you see, it is not yours at all, but Mine. It was My idea to turn it from “broken vessel” to “Holy Temple” by sending My Holy Spirit to reside there, and I paid a worth-while price to do so. How will you honor Me with it? How will you give back to Me what was mine at the start? It was My joy to create for you a vessel to serve as a way for us to be so intimately close, so let it be your joy to show Me how you love and care for it. [adapted from 1 Cor 6:19-20]

“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you? Don’t you know that you have the Holy Spirit from God, and you don’t belong to yourselves? You have been bought and paid for so honor so honor God with your body – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 CEB
