Obedience is greater than sacrifice
Let us draw near with a heart of obedience (Hebrews 10:22)
In the book The Battle Plan for Prayer; Steven & Alex Kendrick create a blueprint for answered prayers. This blueprint though, isn’t a DIY that claims everyone’s final project will look the same.
In fact, it’s more like a training plan.
Kinda like a person who wants to become a runner; (yup, still haven’t run that half marathon); knowing that their body & lifestyle is much different than the next person who decides to run. So then, keeping that in mind; they begin to follow the prescribed well thought out & tested training module, making the necessary applicable adjustments.
One constant can be found among anyone who uses this ‘plan’; the one who created the plan knows that no matter who uses it, fully committed; will indeed finish THEIR race without injury, and feeling much more accomplished than if they were to have just hit the starting line with the assumption that they know their own body and ability. Which by the way, is a recipe for injury. Midway through the chapter titled Your Heart: Obedience Versus Rebellion The Kendrick brothers explain “Obedience matters. Not in a legalistic way. Not as a means of pride or comparison with others. But life as a follower of Christ was never meant to be a casual attempt at doing as little as necessary – just enough to get by, just enough to feel good about going to church on Sunday morning. A person who is truly in Christ is steadily moving in a direction of greater obedience to Him.”

Friends, the best way for us to find freedom, success, a more focused faith AND better fitness is by moving toward greater obedience to Christ. I know, every year about this time you will be overwhelmed by everything in this world claiming promises that they have found the one move, the one food, the one strategy to FINALLY zap this or that into the best life possible. NOTHING can do that for you except for Christ. Sorry not sorry.

You ever felt like your spiritual immune system was compromised. Kinda like when your body knows you must have been around some germ infested area and now you’re a walkin’ incubation of someone’s cooties. Sometimes our spirit can feel like that, especially as women. Some call it hormonal, or PMS; (which by the way, I once heard the PMS referenced as “The Princess Must Scream” LOL.)
Well anyway, I think maybe somewhere my spiritual immune system may have been weakened. In fact I know it was. I know it was because I found myself vulnerable.
And you’ll know if your spiritual immune system has been compromised if you start to take everything personal, become easily offended or feel like you’re being poked at all the time.
It may be that you’ve been around some else’s cooties and your spiritual immune system was already weak and you became an incubator. But how can we recognize when we are weak? And once we have those cooties how do we get rid of that nasty bug? And a nasty one it usually is!
Well, literally here in Atlanta, the entire city shuts down at the first sign of snow. So no runnin’ errands for me and the hubby’s workin’ from home. Since I seem to be some sort of incubator for a germ; I ain’t goin’ nowhere, I’ve got my cozy snuggie (hubby bought it for me cuz I wasn’t feelin good) and an immune boostin’ blueberry vanilla chai protein smoothie so I’m just gonna let God help me build up my immune system.
I pray that you be in good health even as your soul prospers.
Recipe for Immune Boostin’ Blueberry Vanilla Chai Protein Smoothie:
1 cup frozen blue berries
1 cup V8 Fusion(TM) Blueberry Pomegranate
1 cup Bolthouse farms(TM) Vanilla Chai protein
1 cup of ice
1 handful of raw baby spinach
Place all ingredients in the blender, you may want to pour the liquids in first then the spinach then the frozen blueberries and ice that way your blender doesn’t have to work in overdrive to crush the ice.
Mix well and serve!
You can do this. You won’t be doing this alone. I am with you as your guide/friend/supporter, but more importantly God Himself WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU!!!!
Prayer from The Battle Plan for Prayer
Father, I pray You would forgive me for my past disobedience and rebellion – things I’ve never really confessed or done the hard work of forsaking. Wash me clean and turn my heart toward obeying You quickly. Today I’m going to obey Jesus Christ. I’m going to quit resisting Him and arguing with Him and rationalizing with Him and hiding behind prayer. I’m going to obey. Lord, help me obey. In Jesus’ name, amen.
