Five Minute Friday: Change

Today’s Five minute Friday topic: Change 20140328-101024.jpg Ok, here I go… Change hurts. Change happened when I opened a brand new journal before the beginning of a new year. Crisp clean pages and a new pen (obsessions with both – but that’s another topic); ready to be used for the purpose and potential they were created.  I had plans. BIG PLANS. Plans for this to be MY YEAR!!!  Cuz that’s what we do at the end of the year and the beginning of another. We say they aren’t resolutions yet they resemble them quite remarkably.  At any rate, I was focused on the change that was coming. Whatever it was, I was ready. I mean really ready this time. (Never mind the others cuz this time was different – I felt it deep down in my soul) I even wrote it in big blog letters:

That was my way of making sure that I stayed on track. Change was coming because change was what I wanted.  For 4 months I couldn’t walk. My dad died. My 7 year old niece was diagnosed with cancer. I turned 40 and my son joined the military.  My world was changed.  It’s almost September. God had a plan…  To change my focus.  To change me.  To change my change.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, (a person’s heart) but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 As a man thinketh {in his heart} so is he.

God had a plan to change my heart.

What change is God making in your life? What change can I help you pray about?

2 Thoughts on “Five Minute Friday: Change

  1. “To change my change.” Yes, that’s what God does, isn’t it? He changes even what we think about change.

  2. Love that song… that quote.

Change is challenging ~ and it sounds like you’ve had a hard year.

May God continue to give grace to focus, to change in the ways He wants to grow you.
