What does faith require of us

Faith requires our enduring patience and not our tendency to panic!

We need to resist the urge to take back control. It is difficult to fight against the desire to panic. During the process we will be tested by the reality we are experiencing. Our senses will tell us one thing and God’s Word will say another. Everything around us will be crying out for us to take back control. Don’t give in! Quote the word of God and remind yourself of His promises. (From the @youversion reading plan The Spiritual Fitness Manual)

Faith requires that we move when God says move

Oh friends a big GOD VISION has just come true!!! When The Holy Spirit whispered to me that He was equipping me to become like a shovel in His hands, that made absolutely no sense. But as He has carefully unpacked this revelation & brought me along side other women who answered the call; I’ve come to recognize that in His hands we could be used for things that looked odd, uncertain and flat out scary, but His strength would be the power behind the moving and the doing. With His hands He positions us to tear down walls, remove obstacles, and uncover the absolute brilliant light, fear busting Truth of who He is!!!

Friends this past Saturday we hosted a Mats and Mugs with Jesus event; this #matsandmugswithjesus is one of the treasures He has resurrected from under the lies of fear, rejection, and broken souls. THIS IS ONE OF HIS GEMS SHINING LIKE A LIGHTHOUSE! . . .

Faith requires our worship

the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.””
‭‭John‬ ‭4:23-24‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Listen friends, if ever there was a time I was hearing God shout this message  of free people free people it’s now.

I know with all that’s in me, we cannot share, what we do not have.

You’ve heard the saying; you can’t serve from an empty cup? Friends our faith that requires worship requires us to filled. But what are we filling ourselves with? God is calling us to be filled with the love, hope, grace and strength of Christ. Without Him, we will hustle hard and the pride of our accomplishments will fill us up as we search for the adoration and admonition of people and whoa, that fall is even harder.

For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 1 John 2:16

Whatever you are filling yourself with, (that’s worship by the way), this is what you begin to pour out. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.(Luke 6:45)

Ok friends, time to unpack our next Guidepost to Wholehearted Living

Faith requires cultivating and letting go

Cultivating Intuition and Trusting Faith: Letting go of the need for certainty

Mats & Mugs with Jesus – a worship & fellowship opportunity was a leap of faith, a cultivating of trust completely uncertain of what it would be and how God might use it, who would receive it and what it looked like. That morning God revealed that He’s more interested in what happens in us that with what we are doing. Read what Kasey Shuler shared after the event…

Do you ever remain still during the day? While being fully awake? .
This is a hard thing for me to do, especially in the middle of a coffee shop at Mats and Mugs via @momentemfocus 😝 Impatience arises in me, and I go back and forth between trying to pray and listening hard for the voice of the yoga instructor. Maybe she forgot about me? Maybe everyone else is already in a different pose and laughing at me for staying still? Then at the last moment when I think everyone is gone, @3hdeefitness the instructor comes by and massages my neck. I wasn’t expecting that! And what a sweet therapy it was for my aching head! .
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. – Psalm 23:1-3
Afterwards, we talked about how the Lord “makes” us lie down in green pastures. Being still is not easy. Abiding at the feet of the Lord requires discipline, but when He shows up, it’s all worth it! .
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” – Psalm 46:10

Faith requires us to commitment.

Faith is taking God at His word and believing your prayer will be answered. It’s the step beyond hope. Hope is the ability to hear the music of the future; faith is the courage to dance to it today!

FITness: Learning something new ReDiscover YOU

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but never have?

Why not?

What stopped you?

What if you discovered that there’s nothing standing in your way but you?

Living a healthy lifestyle (from the inside out) is a combination of understanding & unlearning your current lifestyle and a willingness to learn how to apply new ideas, thought patterns and habits.

Its less about bout getting it right And more about getting it done.

“Our physical bodies may wander. At times our souls may feel orphaned and lost. But deep within, through the layers of external identity, we can burrow down to the deepest part of who we are, the quiet center we know is in there, the grounded place we’ve felt but can’t see. This solid ground, this rock identity, this fixed point by which all other points are measured, this is our spiritual self, our alive-ness in Christ, our true home.” – Simply Tuesday

Why is it that we have such a strong desire to be a part of something or fear being left out that we pine for it even at the risk of neglecting what we already belong to?

It’s typically not the things we feel obligated to but the things that have become so ordinary to us that we stutter to notice the slightest significance within the relationship.

Going after the desires of our hearts and using our abilities often means going in the opposite direction of the crowd.

It sometimes means that there will not be a manual or an example to follow. Because maybe, JUST MAYBE YOU ARE BEING MADE AS THE EXAMPLE THEY’LL FOLLOW!!

You won’t get it right. But you’ll get it done. You’ll get it done by grace. When grace fills you with a creative ability and power that says ‘it fell apart as it came together’.

“Faith isn’t always a leap. Sometimes it’s just one little step after another, with lots of falling down and getting back up in between”- Unknown

Freedom from portion control

You’ll know how free a person truly is by how free you feel when you’re around them” – Steve Brown  Scandalous Freedom

I’ve discovered I’m distorting my portions. I’m fueling/eating the purpose as if I’m doing the same thing

Last night I read, reread & reread and then read again the chapter in Fervent on praying for your passion.

Initially I had to reread it because I think my mind was all over the place and then I had to reread it because I was crying and couldn’t see the words through my tears and then I had to reread it to actually wrap my brain around it.

What I started to realize is that the attack on our passion isn’t a passion in terms of what we enjoy doing but it’s an attack the passion on the joy in what we’re doing.

Satan’s number one priority is to kill steal and destroy. ABSOLUTELY that includes your joy.

But listen he has no ability to physically take anything from you as a child of God you are protected from him taking anything what he does is he whispers in her ear and tries to convince us that we are not clean we are not redeemed that we have not been sacrificed & surrendered by the blood of Christ.

God’s mercy says NO SATAN you have no power or authority over her.

That mercy is renewed EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

To restore your passion recognize that Mercy is the fuel and there’s an abundance of mercy and no condemnation in taking the supply God set aside for you!

Portion Control

Reconciled. Restored. Redeemed.

Surrendered & sacrificed because He thought I was ‘to die for’.

Beyond the muck & mess of our past He calls us clean without condemnation.

“Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean” – Acts 10:15

He leans in, no matter how low we are; Christ reaches out His hand, and breathes on us with a breath of new hope, new strength, new purpose.

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭21-25‬ ESV)

“Another version says I still dare to hope…His faithful love never ends, His mercies never cease…begin afresh each morning” (New Living Translation)

So take a long, deep look at yourself and answer this question: Have you lost your passion? Has your get-up-and-go simply gotten-up-and-gone? Passion is the fuel in the engine of your purpose. It’s your want-to. It’s what keeps you going when mundane tasks bore you or difficult one dissuade you. Passion is what keeps you moving in the direction your best intentions want to go. // #FERVENT 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸

This month we’re breaking down what a common sense balanced approach to healthy living includes.

Spirit, soul and body; passion fuels our purpose.

What is passion?

Passion isn’t limited to the expressive, explosive animation and stage presence.

It’s who you are when the curtain closes.

It’s what compels you to move when fear says it’s impossible.

It’s your heart, soul, mind and strength rooted in the foundation that God has not created you with a purpose of perfection but a purpose of passionate progress.

Passion is the language of your heart.

The heart that knows anger & contentment; anxiety & peace, hurt & healing, addiction & grace, insecurity & identity…

A FIT PASSION is the result of teachability, discipline and application.

The formula for effective FITness is FIT: Frequency. Intention. Time. HOW FIT IS YOUR PASSION?

(re) Define Yourself: Trending wisdom

If there is anyone in this whole world worth forgiving because you love them so much, shouldn’t it be your own Self? @cedarandsoul

Our trend

Wisdom, Knowledge & Understanding.

“Grace only sticks to our imperfections. Those who can’t accept their imperfections can’t accept grace either” – #ScaryClose  Um… Whoa!!!

So if you haven’t grabbed the YouVersion Scary Close 7 Day devotional yet, you need to!!!

Let’s get to the root of why we strive & figure out what seeds were planted deep in the inner core of our issues with perfection.

The ONLY sustainable substantial remedy to this is grace. I never thought I struggled with perfectionism until I realized that I struggled with being imperfect. I didn’t ever want to nor do I ever consider it worth trying to be (or pretend to be) perfect. I’m not suggesting you focus on imperfections, but at the very least recognizing that we are flawed opens the door to receiving Gods perfect Grace. Where we admit our weakness (flaws) He is made strong.

Wisdoms Trend

Good friend, take to heart what I’m telling you; collect my counsels and guard them with your life. Tune your ears to the world of Wisdom; set your heart on a life of Understanding. That’s right—if you make Insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, Searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt, Believe me, before you know it Fear-of- GOD will be yours; you’ll have come upon the Knowledge of God. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭1-5‬ MSG)

And here’s why: GOD gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding. He’s a rich mine of Common Sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard to the candid and sincere. He keeps his eye on all who live honestly, and pays special attention to his loyally committed ones. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭6-8‬ MSG)

Redefine yourself by tending to trending

Thirsty hearts are those whose longings have been weakened by the touch of God within them. A.W. Tozer

What if we made the decision to change the trend. To create a ripple effect of strength, courage and wisdom? What if we tore off the mask and drop the chains of shame and believed we were called to a greater purpose?

What if we recognized that the new normal looked nothing like what’s expected and our goal was to stand out as a light being used in this world not to expose but to spotlight God’s plan. What if when we took the stage we just said Hi I’m here to introduce the main speaker. What if we cultivated our purpose!!

When your purpose is no greater than yourself it’s easy to rely on just yourself.

When your purpose is bigger than you it will set you apart from the crowd.

 “Be yourself and remain true to God – when the temptation is to go with the crowd, when your integrity is put to the test, when the rest of the world begs you to become someone else. Be true to yourself and true to God, and He will be glorified.” – John Maxwell {Life and Leadership Lessons From The Bible}

Leadership Lessons we can learn from Daniel

1. God chooses the purpose before the person!

2. When leaders follow Gods purpose they are given God’s power!

3. On-Purpose leaders do the right thing – not the easy thing!

Daniel never lost his way because he never lost his why!

• Do you believe everyone who follows God is set apart by Him, or do you think only certain people are? Explain.

• Scripture says God created us to do good works, which He prepared in advance for us to do. Do you have a sense of the kinds of things God created you to do? If so, what are they?

Be fearless

FOCUS: Fearless vs. fear less.

 “Success results as much from what we don’t choose to do as it does from what we choose to do.” {God’s Little Devotional Book on Success}

Would you say that you’re fearless? Or would you say that you fear less?  There’s a difference. Wait for it • • •

Fearless requires DOING whatever it takes to have courage, strength, tenacity, determination … Fear less requires BEING courageous, strong, tenacious, determined. The key is doing vs being. We need both. There’s certain things in my life that make me feel FEARLESS because my confidence in that area moves me. There are other things in my life that make me FEAR LESS because my confidence moves me.

To be fearless says I’ve decided that whatever this is in front of me God has strategically placed in my life to develop something in me; so I know through Him I am fully capable to do it, so I’ll move. To fear less says I’ve decided that whatever this is in front me God has strategically placed in my life because He sees something in me so I will move forward. FEARLESS is not us proving that we have no fear; it’s us deciding how & when we move to face it.

Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable. And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds.
